10/5/2012

On the occasion of the October 7, World Day for Decent Work, today at the Federation of Trade Unions was held a Conference marking the day and supporting the commitment of the ITUC to dedicate this day to young people.
The activities of the social partners in particular are aimed at young people and their employment, said President of CCM Zivko Mitrevski. Unemployment among the young population of 85 million is a worldwide problem, and Macedonia is no exception. But we contribute to solving this problem in all projects involving the social partners.
Rasko Miskoski, president of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions, said that Macedonia is one of the few countries of reduced youth unemployment. The unemployment rate for several years in this part of the population reduced from 38% to 31%.
The Government is working hard to ensure decent working conditions. We have enacted the Law on minimum wage and are we continuously work on many projects to improve the dignity of workers. We believe in social dialogue and hence we expect positive reviews on implementation of the European standards, explained the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Spiro Ristovski.
