PRESS RELEASE
08/21/2012
The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia under its program commitments regularly monitor workers' social and economic situation and standard of living.
In this sense CCM continuously demanded of the authorities to have transparent approach to decision-making in terms of rising costs of energy, especially electricity.
Policy-making of the prices that have direct impact on the economic and social interests of workers are fundamental values included in the Treaty for establishment of the Economic and Social Council.
For this reasons, CCM asked with letters of August 7, 2012, before making decisions by the Regulatory Commission to be previously considered at meetings of the Economic and Social Council in interest of the social dialogue and protection of workers' living standards.
This position has been forwarded to the Government, the Energy Regulatory Commission and the Economic and Social Council of the Republic of Macedonia.
