7 OCTOBER CELEBRATION OF THE WORLD DAY FOR DECENT WORK

On the occasion of 7 October World Day for Decent Work, on Monday at 9:30, SSM will hold a seminar on "The concept of decent work and ILO supervisory mechanisms."
The president of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia Zivko Mitrevski PhD will address the seminar, as well as representatives of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Macedonia and the Union of autonomous and independent trade unions of Macedonia. The seminar will be attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Mr. Dime Spasov, the Coordinator of ILO for Macedonia Mr. Emil Krstanoski and Mr. Ovidiu Jurca, ILO Senior Specialist on labor issues (ILO DWT / CO) in Budapest.
Press conference for the media will be held at 10.00.
During second part of the seminar trade union representatives will have presentations on the status of collective bargaining and ILO supervisory mechanisms and the trade union activities of ratification of ILO Conventions and their role in the ILO country reports. Ovidiu Jurca will have a presentation on the "Freedom of association and supervision mechanisms - international labor standards." The next topic of the seminar is "ILO supervisory mechanisms and examples from Macedonia - new conditions."
The same in SSM at 10:30 will be held a Conference named "Together against Women discrimination."
The conference is organized by Women sections SSM, KSS and UNASM. The event is part of the project "Strengthening the capacity of women employees and networking in the Western Balkans", with the support of ITUC and ISCOS.
President of the Women Section of SSM Elizabeta Gelevska will present on "Equality and gender discrimination in the labor legislation of RM". Jovana Trencevska, coordinator of the group on equal opportunities for women and men will speak on "Law on Equal Opportunities". "Discrimination and harassment in the workplace" is the topic covered by professor Todor Kalamatiev of the Faculty of Law. Divna Zmejkovska of UNASM have a presentation on "Decent work" , Mila Carovska of MPPS on the "Decent income" and Lidija Pavic Kekenovska on "Experiences with Mobbing of the Mobbing Office - SSM".
