On May 5, 2014 at the Law Faculty- Stip a panel debate on the topic: "Trade unions and their role as protector of workers' rights" was held organized by the Center for Juridical and Political Studies at the University "Goce Delchev"- Stip.

Speakers and participants at the forum were PhD Zivko Mitrevski, President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, Rifat Jurshid, expert, PhD Andon Majhoshev, Law Faculty, University "Goce Delchev"- Stip, M.Sc. Dimitar Apasiev, Law Faculty University "Goce Delchev"- Stip and PhD Strashko Stojanovski, moderator.

On the panel debate several issues were discussed including the issue of protection of labor rights in the country, the role of the Economic and Social Council, tripartite dialogue, collective bargaining as a form of trade union action, and strike as a method of trade union action.

President Mitrevski put special emphasis on the concept of celebration of First of May, the International Workers' Day.
